Starhill Gallery and Tourism Malaysia’s Opening Gala Dinner
A host of awards are given for the most impressive and exquisite novelties on display by the brand principals in attendance. There are seven categories of awards will be presented during Tourism and Culture Gala Night: Watch and Jewellery of the Year Awards Presentation 2016. They include:

The by-invitation annual awards ceremony will be held on 4th November at the Mayang Sari Ballroom, JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur with 30 nominated pieces across 15 distinguished brands namely Bedat & Co, Breitling, Cartivia, Ceres, Garrard, Gubelin, HYT, Hermes, Hublot, Moritz Grossman, Rebellion, Romain-Jerome, Speake-Marine and Ulysse Nardin.
A Journey Through Time Retrospective Exhibition
A Journey Through Time Retrospective Exhibition will highlight the activities, partnerships and collaborations of A Journey Through Time over the past 9 years. The exhibition is at Adorn Floor, from 4th - 13th November.

A Journey Through Time will feature world-class performances by British Mezzo Soprano Carly Paoli and UK idol Gareth Gates. British Mezzo Soprano Carly Paoli has been singing since the age of nine and has since gone on to become one of the most talented female vocalists of our time. Born in Nottinghamshire to a large Italian-British family, Ms. Paoli was raised bi-lingual, speaking both Italian and English. Her passion for music started at a young age which led her to pursue a career on stage. Her world-class talent was recognized even before she was a teenager by her then and present vocal coach Elizabeth Hetherington. Carly Paoli made her international debut alongside world-class artistes including Jennifer Hudson and Aerosmith’s Steve Tyler at the David Foster Miracle Gala in 2014. In 2015, Carly performed at the Caracalla Roman Baths near the Colosseum for UNICEF, hand-in-hand with world-renowned tenors Jose Carreras and Andrea Bocelli together with the remarkable flautist Andrea Griminelli and Pavarotti's favourite soprano, Cynthia Lawrence. Beautiful, talented, elegant and sophisticated, Ms. Paoli is currently the ambassador for Bedat & Co, and is known as The Angel of Bedat & Co. She is also a keen philanthropist and has been appointed patron of When You Wish upon A Star charity in the United Kingdom. Gareth Gates rose to fame through the inaugural Pop Idol in 2001/2 and went on to sell over 5 million records worldwide and have hits across the globe. His version of Unchained Melody sold over a million copies in the UK and is the 3rd bestselling single of the Noughties, whilst Anyone of Us was a hit across the world. He is also the youngest ever-male solo artist to debut at number 1. More recently Gareth has had a hugely enjoyable and successful career in Musicals (Les Miserables, Legally Blonde and Joseph to name a few). In 2015 Gareth Gates has played many different live shows in many guises; his own acoustic theatre shows, a fully live band for a string of dates for Haven and in the Autumn a tour for the 10th anniversary of Mad about the Musicals. |

MASA Horlogerie Showcase
The debut of Malaysia’s very first and only watchmaking company MASA Horlogerie with the inaugural showcase of their Kerabat Series, which includes a special piece inspired by the history of the legendary “Taming Sari”; a tribute to the rich Malaysian heritage. “Taming Sari” is a famous kris or dagger that is believed to have been wielded by the legendary Malaccan warrior Hang Tuah and is fabled to grant physical invulnerability to its wielder. Between 10 and 15 unique pieces from the collection are showcased with prices ranging from RM 3,000 to RM 30,000.
The Legacy of Time Exhibition
A portrait exhibition of ten prominent Malaysian personalities with their most-cherished and priceless pieces passed through generations entitled “The Legacy Of Time” , bringing to life this year’s theme “Legacy and Icons”.
Timeless Royal Weave Exhibition
Paying homage to Malaysia’s finest “bejewelled” fabrics which are traditionally weaved with gold and silver threads, the Timeless Royal Weave Exhibition features iconic British designer Dame Zandra Rhodes’ contemporary songket dresses and Kraftangan’s collection. Dame Zandra Rhodes has dressed icons such as Lady Diana, Princess of Wales and Queen’s Freddie Mercury over her five decade career. Not to be missed are the fashion shows pairing watches and jewellery with the collections. You can also see ‘live’ demonstration of songket weaving at the exhibition during the 10 days from 12pm to 7pm.
Alta Moda KL Fashion Show
Continuing the fashion collaboration is the show by Malaysia’s own Lord’s Tailors featuring their immaculate menswear collection paired with luxury timepieces. The showcase of Dame Zandra Rhodes and Lord’s Tailor is part of Kuala Lumpur Alta Moda, a high fashion extravaganza held in Starhill Gallery to showcase couture collections by renowned international and local labels.
A Journey Through Time X Zouk Party
To close our milestone celebration on a super-charged high note, Starhill Gallery is pairing up with the iconic superclub Zouk Kuala Lumpur to present the first-ever A Journey Through Time X Zouk Party on the 12th November at Shook! Feast Village, Starhill Gallery with pulsating music by celebrated DJs. Event is by-invitation only.
