The story of Armand Nicolet begins around 1875 in Tramelan, Switzerland, a little town in the Bernese Jura. Armand Nicolet, son of a watchmaker, after a brilliant apprenticeship set up his "Atelier d'Horlogerie".
When he died in 1939, his son Willy assumed the reins of the family enterprise and developed it to be one of the most important production facilities in the region.
The Swiss mechanical watch production is classified in three different processes:
Back in the days (between the 30's and the 70's) Armand Nicolet had one of the most specialised ateliers in the T1 process. Particularly focused on the complicated mechanical movements produced at that time like the Venus Chronographs (including the Rattrappante or Split Second), the Complete Calendar and many other calibres. Through the skills and knowledge of their factory's master watch-makers the company used to finish and sell these movements to many of the most prestigious Swiss brands. At the end of the 70's, when the crisis hit the Swiss Watch Industry because of quartz movements making their big entrance on the market, unlike other brands which either closed their factories or underwent a conversion process, the Armand Nicolet factory, managed by Willy Nicolet (son of Armand), succeeded to preserve their extraordinary knowledge keeping the atelier open throughout those difficult years.
The new management saw the huge potential in having this treasure and decided to rescue, maintain and continuously develop the company's know-how by working on these old movements (such as UNITAS, Venus, ETA, Peseux, FHF etc…) and bringing them back to a new life.
Such beautiful and extraordinary movements are now featured in our O.H.M (Original Historical Movement) Series that because of the few original historical movements still available are created only in Limited Editions. These products locate Armand Nicolet on the market in a unique position of which we are very proud of. The precious artisan savoir-faire is alive and dynamic at the Armand Nicolet factory and enables the production of unique and truly valuable watches.
Constantly in search of innovation and perfection our master watch-makers rigorously pursue the tradition of Armand Nicolet, developing inside our atelier all steps of the production process, from the project to the assembly and the final control of each part and of the final product. Each Armand Nicolet watch is delivered with its individual International Warranty Certificate along with the individual Technical Control Certificate compiled by the watch-maker who has performed the final control of the watch.
Applying the knowledge that this peculiar production gives us we produce also Contemporary Collections that feature ETA-based movements modified and refinished according to our project's specifications. The beautiful models of all these collections stand out thanks to the refined look created by our Italian designers.

More than simple displays of hours and minutes
"Ordinary watches have never appealed to me", says BLU founder, Bernhard Lederer, who already in his apprenticeship days loved to work on extraordinary and complicated timepieces. He studied the art of watchmaking of past masters and then developed his own style. Today with BLU, Bernhard Lederer has made a name for himself with a highly original collection of stunning watch designs and audacious interpretations of displaying time.
Founded in 2000, BLU SA is an integrated watchmaking manufacture specializing in exclusive haute horlogerie with a difference. BLU's timepieces offer more than simple displays of hours and minutes - BLU encompasses the best in traditional fine watchmaking while developing creative technical solutions to offer new ways of conveying time.
BLU makes watches that indicate the time, but not in a blatantly obvious way. Their timepieces usually display time using rotating, or orbiting disks, reminiscent of the orbits of the sun and the planets. If the watch does have a hand or hands they are discreet.
LU's timepieces are noted for their serenity and elegant ingenuity; a reaction against the gadgetry and superfluous mechanics of traditional complicated watches.

A Dior watch speaks the language of couture. The delicate, intense style that is the hallmark of the House of Dior and the formal register used in watchmaking find a voice in each other, while a demanding manufacturing process translates creativity into a timepiece. This process brings together a range of highly-technical artisanal skills that are applied to an object that is the expression of a fantasy. In this way, the aesthetic vocabulary of Dior constructs a device that transcends time, yet also measures it.
The Dior watch is a watch of multiple facets. A creation of delicacy, a piece of pure style - that it belongs in the world of Dior can be ascertained at a single glance. The spirit of the Avenue Montaigne and Christian Dior presides over its design. Its nature as a watch gives rise to a series of demands requiring a manufacturing process of the highest standards. Dior Watchmaking Workshops are the guarantor of this superior craftsmanship. From conception to final aesthetic inspection, the Dior watch is a product of the legacy of Swiss watchmaking. A meeting of technical and aesthetic perfection is found in every detail: the shape of a hand, the curve of a case, the line of a ceramic bracelet, the fold of a satin strap... Yet despite all this, such achievements pass unnoticed. The only impression that endures is one of grace and style.

Franc Vila was born in Valencia, in the eastern Spain. He became passionately interested in art, design, watches and fountain pens at a very early age as well as collector of watches and fountain pens. He has formal education in art, philosophy and science. He was shareholder and creative producer in a film production company called "NEP". He has worked as biochemistry investigator in the Valencia Biotechnology Institute, as the director of a chemistry laboratory, as science professor, and as the creative director of a luxury leather raw goods company.
Franc Vila started to design watches on 2000, when committed himself to create high quality mechanical watches only, and to create some of the best timepieces ever made.
Due to his education in chemistry he has a well knowledge of materials, and thanks to it he created his first wristwatches with a very special stainless steel with an innovative case structure of two pieces. His education in arts allowed him to design a watch case that evolved later in the “esprit unique” shape characteristic of the FRANC VILA watches.
The first Franc Vila timepiece was a minute repeating wristwatch with perpetual calendar and moon-phases with a world premiere slide mechanism positioned inside of the case.
Franc Vila showed officially for first time his first collections in Baselworld 2005 with big success thanks to his original case and dial designs. Since then, Franc Vila has been presenting timepieces with his characteristic “esprit unique” design housing the most prestigious complications in horology such as Perpetual Calendars, Flyback Chronograph watches and tourbillons with minute repeater or with chronograph.
His absolute passion for excellence and for exclusivity leads to ultra limited collections of numerated timepieces with their movements accurately detailed in luxury finishes and decoration, adopting in the case of the tourbillon movements the “esprit unique” shape.
Franc Vila developed his finely hand-crafted complicated wristwatches and fundamentally reinvented forms, building into the future by respecting the past, creating watches that are contemporary while retaining their classical spirit.
Franc Vila creations are an individual and exceptional global approach where all the elements —case, dial, strap, mechanism, rotos, screws, crown and hands— form a unique and indissociable whole in which modernity, beauty, quality, precision and exclusivity play a balanced role.
The FRANC VILA watches benefit from the latest technology combined with an exceptional know-how that blends tradition and modernity and are designed for an exclusive clientele who demand a timepiece both contemporary and elegant.
The FRANC VILA timepieces are a form of art and who wears them has time for leisure pursuits, appreciates life's special moments and needs different and special products, not mass produced watches, but pieces that provide a unique experience to each individual.
Owning an exceptional unique watch is a rare privilege and to wear it an exclusive art.
FRANC VILA´s Time-Pieces reinvent forms, building into the future by respecting the past, and perpetuate the watch-making tradition with its collections, including the most prestigious complications with the unique design “Esprit Unique”. FRANC VILA´s commitment is to present new classics through the understanding of the contemporary world.
You are kindly invited to discover our revolutionary and exclusive new concept watches representing the luxury leisure timepieces' future, and to explore the UNIQUE SPIRIT and the exceptional style that characterizes the FRANC VILA brand.

Hysek can be described as both a watchmaking designer and a designer watchmaker: since it was founded in 1997, it has developed complex movements in close association with a particularly sophisticated aesthetic appearance. Through its primary vocation of design, Hysek imparts a refined, exclusive, avant-garde spirit to each of its creations.
Hysek entered the watchmaking scene with Kilada: its first line, revealing timepieces that summed up the philosophy that was to guide it henceforth: tight lines, a contemporary design and an approach that marked a breakaway from the codes of traditional watchmaking.
On the back of the success of its first creations, Hysek rapidly commenced operations on all continents. Its watchmaking excellence quickly expanded, too: in 2003, the Kilada was equipped with a tourbillon and in 2005, a Westminster minute repeater, dubbed Symphony, marked the entry of Hysek into fine watchmaking. The same year saw the arrival of the Abyss line, with its highly modern curves embodying the very special care take with the case profiles.
In 2007, Hysek undertook to bring together the different trades necessary for making its timepieces under one roof. From that time on, the brand has been committed to developing Fine Watchmaking calibers, including a tourbillon, a complication it duplicated for the Kilada XX-Ray: for the first time in the world, a watch was fitted with two tourbillon movements.
Even as the first ladies' models were added to the collection, Hysek developed new models at a sustained pace: the Grand Complication Colosso GMT Minute Repeater, the ‘Furtif Mirage' tourbillon, and the more classical IO line, as well as new automatic Hours, Minutes, Seconds and Chronograph calibers from the manufacture, bearing witness to the firm's creative vitality. These many developments have contributed to Hysek's growth, with the opening of its first stores in Asia in 2010 and 2012.
Manufacture Hysek now designs and produces watches, jewellery, writing implements and accessories. With products distributed in over 50 countries, Hysek can boast an international reputation and exposure.

Many watches are vaunted for their ability to keep water out. But the makers of the young Swiss watch brand HYT call themselves hydromechanical horologists and boast of their skills at keeping fluids in.
HYT is a watch making company based in Biel, Switzerland. It was launched in 2012 when it introduced its first hybrid timepiece, the H1, during BaselWorld. The H1, its first concept watch, for example, uses a unique hydraulic transmission system to tell the time.
The H1 is visually impressive: In a futuristic dial, it displays two reservoirs that contain liquids that cannot be mixed, one of them fluorescent. Compressing the first reservoir sends the fluorescent liquid up a capillary tube around the perimeter of the watch, displacing the other liquid into the second reservoir.
As the hours go by, the fluorescent liquid advances, pushed by hydraulic pressure. The position of the crescent-shaped meniscus between the liquids shows the hour. At 6 o’clock, the fluorescent liquid flows back to return to its original position.

The wristwatches produced by Nautische Instrumente Mühle-Glashütte stand out due to their clarity of display, excellent functionality and high precision.
Our S.A.R. models in particular demonstrate these excellent qualities every day, for example on the rescue lifeboats of the Deutsche Gesellschaft zur Rettung Schiffbrüchiger (German Maritime Search and Rescue Service), where the watch mechanisms also have to withstand extreme stress and strain. This is why we provide them with our patented woodpecker neck regulation, a particularly reliable and precise regulation.
As a result, every Mühle watch becomes a precision instrument with one main purpose: to measure time accurately and display it clearly. That’s what we understand by elementary time measurement.

Today, Van Cleef & Arpels can be found exclusively in Malaysia on Adorn Floor, Starhill Gallery.
